Background
The project will repair the sinkhole in the eastbound slow lane of Fair Oaks Boulevard east of Lantern Court. Maintenance staff determined the sinkhole is due to a hole in the drainage pipe crossing Fair Oaks Boulevard. Additionally, television inspection of the pipe revealed a prior pipe repair adjacent to the current sinkhole that is in poor condition. Maintenance staff installed a recessed trench plate as a temporary measure until this project is built.
Project Description
The project will repair the current hole/sinkhole and remove & replace the adjacent pipe repair. The work will occur within the eastbound slow lane and bike lane of Fair Oaks Boulevard. We estimate construction will take two weeks with work hours of 9am-3pm. Residents should expect construction noise and traffic impacts during the project. There may be intermittent traffic delays exiting Lantern Court.
