Carrisa Way-Villa Vista Way Storm Drain Improvement Project

​The Carrisa Way/Villa Vista Way Storm Drain Improvement Project area is located on Carrisa Way, Avalon Way, and Villa Vista Way, in the Arden-Arcade area. The project area consists of approximately 45 acres of medium density residential development.  The project was initiated due to multiple street flooding reports within the project area over several years.  


Project Description

​Improvements will upgrade the existing system, alleviating street flooding in the area, and bring the system up to current drainage standards.  This project will install a new drainage pipeline in Carrisa Way, Avalon Way, Marilona Drive, and Villa Vista Way. See the project map below. ​




Project Updates

The storm drain improvement project was approved by the Board of Supervisors and advertised for construction contractors on January 24, 2023. The public bid opening was on March 2, 2023. There were 12 bids submitted.​

Quality Control

Sacramento County Construction Management and Inspection Division (CMID) will manage all field work and inspections for the project. Jason Stang is the construction inspector. He will resolve most field issues and ensure the work meets the design plans and specifications. Gabe Apgar is the Resident Engineer. He will oversee construction and handle major field issues.​
