​We are looking for an Associate Civil Engineer for the Sacramento County Water Agency's (SCWA) Operations Support – Capital Improvements Section. The Associate Civil Engineer will be responsible for working on a variety of rehabilitation projects including wells, tanks, filters, transmission main​s, distribution mains, production meters, electrical systems, SCADA, and various miscellaneous appurtenances. This will include working with internal staff, consultants, or both. Tasks will include managing emergency projects, preparing PS&E for bid processes and managing projects through construction, preparing invoices or reimbursement agreements with external agencies, coordinating with other Sacramento County departments and external jurisdictions, assisting with maintenance work orders, and providing various engineering support for operations field staff.  

This position is dynamic with varying tasks and increasing level of responsibility. The ideal candidate will have good management and communication skills. Strong organizational skills are required.

The ability to maintain effective working relationships with various maintenance staff, consultants, external agencies, and other County entities is essential.
