There are several events throughout the Sacramento region that provide opportunities for creek cleanups, educational workshops, and community events that focus on making our communities a cleaner and healthier place to live. River City Waterway Alliance - Committed to engaging ocal citizen volunteers to remove trash at organized events along local waterways, most notably the American River, Sacramento River, Steelhead Creek, Arcade Creek, as their significant tributaries.
Sacramento Picks It Up - A volunteer-based group that organizes clean up efforts in Sacramento.
Elk Grove Anti-Trash Volunteers - Tackles the city of Elk Grove’s ongoing litter and illegal dumping problems in its parks, trails, waterways, fields, and streets.
Arcade Creek Adopt a Creek Program - Coordinates volunteer community cleanups. This effort is supported and encouraged by the Sacramento Area Creeks Council and the Arcade Creek Recreation and Park District.
American River Parkway Foundation - This organization’s mission is to lead and inspire the community to conserve and nurture the American River Parkway as a unique, accessible resource for everyone to enjoy. The ARPF organizes clean ups and outreach events along the American River Parkway.
Rescape California - Educates about and advocates for a whole-systems regenerative approach to landscaping that works in harmony with the natural world and addresses the changing environment. Rescape provides residential workshops and professional trainings focused on sustainable landscaping practices.
