Meter Installation Project: Southwest Tract, Hood and Walnut Grove
The Water Agency has been awarded stimulus funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) and through the California Safe Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to install water meters in Southwest Tract, Hood and Walnut Grove. This stimulus funding is specifically dedicated for water infrstructure projects and these communities have been selected because it best meets the project criteria set forth in the ARRA.
This project was submitted and approved by the Water Agency Board of Directors on August 25. MIB enterprises is the contractor awarded the Meter Installation Project.
Due to weather conditions and meter acquisitions, the meter installations have been pushed back. The most recent construction schedule is listed below for the respective communities.
Southwest Tract Community: Completed
Hood Community: Construction activity began late February 2010.
E. Walnut Grove: Construction activity is scheduled to begin late April 2010. The Meter Installation Project is scheduled to be completed June 2010. After project completion, the residents will be placed on a one-year “statistical metering” program designed to track their water use and provide them with comparative data on metered versus flat water rates. They will remain on a flat water rate during the one-year study period unless they request an early conversion to metered water billing. |
