Whether you're replacing an older toilet or upgrading to a high-efficiency clothes washer, these programs make it easier to invest in sustainable, water-smart solutions for your home. It’s a win for your wallet and the environment.
How to get your clothes washer rebate
- Purchase a new, high efficiency qualifying clothes washer between December 1, 2024 and December 31, 2025 or until rebate program funds are depleted. Check the California Energy Consortium at www.cee1.org for a current list of qualifying models with Water Factor of 3.7 or less.
- Purchase must be installed at a site served by Sacramento County Water Agency.
- Submit a completed two-page rebate application form, within 30 days of installing your clothes washer via mail to SCWA address provided. You need to submit the following items:
- Front page of this application form completed.
- Copy of water service bill (within past 6 months)
- Copy of purchase receipt.
- Submitting a signed application represents agreement to have your water provider verify installation of the clothes washer, with your accompaniment. Your water provider (or their representative) may schedule an inspection.
The rebate amount is $100. The rebates are for residential and multi-family (including mobile home, condos, etc.) customers only. - SCWA will issue rebate checks within eight to ten weeks of receipt of your completed application materials.
Clothes Washer installation and disposal
You are responsible for the both the installation of new and disposal of your old clothes washer. Costs associated with either the disposal or installation is not eligible for reimbursement.
Permitting
Building permits are not required when a customer simply removes and installs a clothes washer on existing plumbing.

How to get your toilet/urinal rebate
- Call your water agency or their representative (phone numbers on application) to see if rebates are available and how much your rebate would be.
- Purchase and install the new High Efficiency toilet(s). You must be replacing a toilet using 3.5 gallons per flush or a urinal that flushes 3.0 gallons per flush or greater (a non-ULFT) to be eligible.
- You may install the toilet(s) yourself or hire a licensed contractor.
- Return the original dated receipt and/or plumber’s invoice with the price, model and brand of each toilet listed individually, and the completed application. Keep a copy for your records.
- Submitting a signed application represents an agreement to have your water provider verify installation of the toilet, with your accompaniment. Your water provider (or their representative) may schedule an inspection.
- Rebates are up to $175 per toilet for residential and $200 for commercial. Call your water agency to verify the amount you are eligible for. Total rebate amount will not exceed money spent. Eligible expenses include tank, bowl, seat, supply line, wax ring, caulking, bolts, bolt covers, tax, and cost of professional installation.
- The water agencies issue rebate checks within eight to ten weeks of receipt of your completed application materials.
To qualify for this rebate an inspection is required BEFORE you remove your old toilet to verify the toilet removed qualifies. Please call 866-685-2322 to schedule an inspection.
Toilet disposal
You are responsible for the disposal of your old toilet(s).
Permitting
Building permits are not required when a customer simply removes and installs a toilet on existing plumbing. A permit is required when a plumbing fixture will be relocated.
